ellie's first three weeks

we can't believe it's been

T H R E E
W E E K S

since our little gal came into our life.
oh, she's just the sweetest babe.

this is our life lately.

diapers everywhere. tinyyyy diapers.
stain remover at the bedside.
walks or jogs on the daily.
snuggling and swaddling. (ellie's favorite swaddle)
sleeping in and pajamas all day.
or... waking up before the sun shines. and not getting back to sleep.
realizing how many of my clothes aren't nursing proof.
piles of laundry. but the best smelling baby detergent.
so many kisses. for bry and for ellie.
halloween crafting and decorating.
not ever enough time in the day.
afternoon naps if we're lucky.
staring at her... always just staring at her.
tired and aching body, but full heart.

yep, that's about it for now.
we're just loving life.

i posted this quote on my instagram account, but i wanted to share it again here. it rings so true to my heart right now, and i am soaking in the simplicity of each normal day. sometimes i search for that "perfect day," but i'm realizing more and more i keep finding it in the days that are unplanned, uneventful, and simply spent with the people i love most.

"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so." -Mary Jean Irion

some pics from the hospital, followed by some pics at home. enjoy. :)

^we spent each day in the hospital staring at her, and it was the best thing ever.

  1. Just found your blog and love it. Congratulations to your family! I love your cute house and was wondering where you got the chairs at your kitchen table from. Thanks!

    1. You are so sweet- thank you! The chairs were from Down East Outlet in Sandy, and we got a great deal on them! I'm not sure if they still have any in stock, but if you Google search "mint metal chairs," other companies that sell them will pop up. We love them!
