merry merry christmas

hope you all had a

M E R R Y
M E R R Y
C H R I S T M A S

i had all the "feels" this year as my little family gathered on christmas eve and read the story of christ, the polar express, and opened christmas jammies. there was something so special about it being the three of us. ellie fell asleep under the lights of the christmas tree as bry and i ate our traditional swiss raclette dinner and talked about our favorite things from the past year and goals for the new year. to celebrate these traditions as a family of three was something i'll never forget. christmas morning and weekend was also memorable being able to be with family and people i love.

i look forward to many more christmas-es just like this one.
here's a quick video recap:

^teaching El my favorite game.
^
^^(above from left to right) Ellie and her bud Beck. The train we gave to Mom and Dad Miles for Christmas. The traditional Miles fam ski day at Solitude for Christmas Eve. For two nights straight, we had my family over for a Star Wars marathon before going to the new movie. It was so fun to have Tay, Brooke, and Little E in town!
^The annual Nelson family gathering... dinner, nativity performed by the kids, singing the Christmas carols, and exchanging gifts.
^a date night to Porcupine Grill and the Jazz game!
^My brother Spencer, who is in Brazil, met Ellie for the first time over Skype. It was such a sweet moment, it brought me to tears. I can't wait to see him this summer.
^a painting i did for Bry and his favorite SIMMS fishing shirt.
^our traditional Christmas breakfast of "Goodmorning Eggs" and cinnamon rolls + chocolate milk. YUM.
^she held Santa's beard so tight. :)
^We put our backyard to good use.
^homemade eggnog with the Stobbes
^White Elephant gift exchange with some of our best friends. Love this group of humans so much!
^This year we almost completed our "Twelve Dates of Christmas" and had so much fun crossing those things off our list!
^the Nutcracker with the Miles girls
snuggles with Papa <3
^Picking out our tree

hope you have a happy new year.
