one of my all time favs!! people keep asking me for this one, so here you go...

homemade peppermint ice cream
6 eggs well beaten
3 3/4 c. sugar
2 qt. half and half
1 drop peppermint flavor
1 pkg. crushed peppermint
3/4 tsp. salt
Beat eggs really well, for at least 2 minutes, and then add other ingredients. Pour into your ice cream canister and then add milk to the fill line if the liquid mixture doesn't already reach it (the fill line should be inside the ice cream canister). Using your ice cream maker's own directions for adding salt/ice around the canister to the bucket, plug in and wait until done. It comes out really creamy, but i like it best frozen for a few hours before eating. Enjoy!

*just for all you "planner-aheaders..." this recipe makes the cutest christmas gifts... just make a whole bunch, seal in mason jars with a cute ribbon to tie around, and there you have all your friend/neighbor/family gifts for next year.
**third picture is from simplyrecipes. i ate my ice cream up so fast i had none left to get a final picture. ;) it should look like that but with more pink! Also, this recipe does have raw eggs, and so if you are nervous about that at all, this is probably not for you.
